how do i access Direct X?

last time in Win 98 or Win ME ther ewill be a direct X folder in programfiles..... i need to find the directX config because i need to diable a my hardware accelerration for my soundcard....

and... where can i disable the SB 16 Emulation of the Soundblaster Live card

And there is another way . . . Start, Settings, Control Panel, and click on DirectX. It is an iconized entry. You then get the installed DX menu with tabs different from DXDiag.

You disable the 16 Bit Emulator for SB in Device Manager, then highlight the 16 SB, click on Properties, and put an "X" in the box for "Disable in this Configuration." That will take it out and you will see a red X on it in D/M.
