How do find the right power adapter for something? 12V 2.6A wtf!

it says 12v - 2.6A

Is there some chart for that polarity? diagram, what about the size plug. I dont want to lug this thing to radioshack like a assclown.
 
usually when you buy a universal power adapter it will have switch with multiple amperage settings and an assortment of device-end plugs. pretty sure 2.6 was an option on my old one...lost it so i cant check.

is this for a laptop, car device, portable audio, etc?
 
I don't think Radio Shack will have something with that much output. You probably have to find one from an electrical supply/hobby place like mouser or maybe from a place like smarthome.com. If you still have the plug from the old adapter you can simply cut the wire and match + to +

If not then there should be a diagram on the back of the monitor
