How do digital scales analyze body fat??

I always see scales being advertised as being capable of calculation body fat. I really dont know how it is possible.

I mean, you just step on and it measures your weight. You input your height and age.

It's not like skinfold tests that actually measure something revelant

How can it measure BF percentage with just that information.

i don't think they're accurate.

at least I hope they're not accurate. It says I'm 25% bodyfat..but no way that's right.

Electrical current gets passed through your body. The longer it takes to pass through your body, the more fat you supposedly have.

I can step on my scale 5 times in a row and get 5 different numbers that are all over the place.

They take a quick pic and upload it to hot or not.

Within seconds you get your results.
