How do commercials work on BBC?

From what I remember they are not like they are in the USA, as in 5 minutes of commercials every 15 minutes.

On an hour long show on BBC where do the commercials fit?

they don't have commercials, BBC is a public broadcaster

edit: don't know about BBC USA, but the BBC I have here in Belgium (BBC1 and BBC2) have no commercials at all

there are no ads in the shows we pay a TV licence so that they dont show any..

all the other channels do though

Anyways, they don't have commercials at all, but what happens is that people have to pay a yearly license, and I think that's where the money comes from.

Nope.

If you have a TV, you have to pay for the TV license.

I don't know how they get funding, but that's how I assume that they do, because it's 131.50 GBP per househould with a license.

According to the article on Wikipedia, the BBC gets 75% of it's income from these fees.

BBC America has ads just like any other channel. British shows that they air on PBS dont have commercials during the show, but there are more commercials between shows, the actual lengh of the show works out to be about the same.
