How do blackboard/chalkboard sites work

I think these are used a lot in schools now.

Does the blackboard site link to and open external sites or do they download and store external site content so that they can work offline?

They didn't have these when I was school and I've only heard of them.

The same way forums work. It is a series of scripts you download that work off of each other and store massive amounts of information.

What does it have to do with external sites and when do they work offline?

The majority run on local servers using the blackboard software. It's necessary in order to get the bandwidth needed for many of their applications--It's much more practical if someone is say, downloading gigabytes of instruction videos at several megabytes a second.

They don't work. At all.

I have to deal with their horrid attempts at making a usable system on a daily basis.

But yes, I believe they are locally hosted.

I have created the first programs that show how the laws of different states distribute intestate property (I haven't changed the world, but it was a lot of research and work)

I have noticed links from blackboard site used by different schools. However, I noticed that it is normally just followed to my site once.

If they are hosting my programs locally, rather than connecting to my sites, they are robbing me of traffic, which is the life of every site.

Basically, this is my work and if they are using offline versions on sites that they charge others tuition to access they are not only depriving me of the benefit of my effort, but they are gaining by charging others to use them - and that pisses off.

they have usually a section for homework assignments, online quizzes, and the syllabus, and usually a forum for students in the class to communicate
they also have an instructor resources link with links to other sites that the instructor deems "helpful", that's my guess is they are linking to you from there

if they are linking directly to your file perhaps you could e-mail the schools and ask them to link to your main site?
