How do ATI AIW Cards Work?

How do they work?

Does the line have to have subscribed cable on it for it to work? Meaning if I don't have cable routed to my lines, can the card still pick up channels and work?

You need some sort of source or antenna. The AIW cards are basically the normal card (9800pro or whatever the case may be) with a tuner and more inputs. They also come with a breakout box for even more inputs. So you can hook your VCR player or DVD player or an antenna or whatever to them. I am not sure what "line" you are talking about. Do you mean your cable line?

Basically, if you can hook your TV to the line and get channels, the AIW will get channels if its the same format. (NTSC or PAL)
