how disappointing.....my laptop has been held up at customs since friday

i was told that there's a problem with the documentation that HP sent w/ the fedex shipment. apparently, my notebook is just a small part of 451 other orders that are being held up because someone overlooked something. doh.

i think i'll call hp and tell them they suck. maybe i'll get something for free.

I hate dell but at least the build a lot of that stuff here.

i've ordered a few systems through dell and have never had a delivery delay. i think the problem w/ my notebook was that i ordered the first batch of dv2000s that were available w/ the core2 duo, requiring assembly in china.....or perhaps HP assembles all their notebooks overseas??? i'm sure it's cheaper.

I don't think that Dell builds any notebooks here. All of that work gets outsourced to a Chinese company.
