How difficult would it be to make a digital back for a Nikonos V or RS?

My old man has a Nikonos V, and the the stuff he's produced from that over the last 15 years or so has been incredible (using mostly Velvia & Provia slide).

They are superb little cameras, and if you could give one a digital back it would be the bee's knees!

I've got a Nikkormat FTN that I would love to shoot digital with; it's got that fully mechanical feel and big bright split-prism viewfinder that no 135 camera has had for decades. Heck, I'd even be able to use all my lenses with it except for the G-type 18-200mm VR, because all D-type lenses have holes pre-drilled on either side of the f/5.6 mark for the meter's aperture pin coupling.
