how difficult it is for a Chinese national to get permission to visit the US (Tourism)?

My Chinese (PRC) friend would like to visit me here in America. But if I understand correctly, the Chinese government makes it difficult for natives to leave the country. Also, the US may make it difficult to get a tourist visa.

Just how difficult is this process?

I really don't think it's that hard to be honest. My friend's dad lives in Beijing and is a Chinese citizen, and he just flew in from China a week ago and he's staying for a while.

Main reason why the government makes it difficult for natives to leave the country is because people usually come here on a Tourist Visa and permanently stay.

If your friend has a fair amount of assets ($$$$$$) wise, I doubt the government will give much of a fuss. Since most likely, he wouldn't be leaving all that good stuff behind just to come to America

That is good news. She owns a condo unit and a house in Beijing, and has a good job.

I think it's based on ownership and job. So if your friend owns a house and have a job, she shouldn't have trouble getting a Visa.

People without home ownership and a job are more likely to just stay here for the rest of their life.

Pretty much impossible, tell him to go do the docks at 6a.m. Thursday mornings, wait for a boat and ask for a guy named Chen.
