How different is WinFS from Unix filesystems?

This has probably been asked before, but i didnt find anything quite this specific. Maybe someone could point me to an article or two?

From a developers standpoint, which one is/will-be easier to work with? From a consumers (laypersons) standpoint, does WinFS offer a tangible improvement?

What fs are you trying to compare it to? Remember WinFS is layered ontop of NTFS so it isn't an FS by itself, but rather a relational database.
