I don't remember actually. I just remember that my name was taken on hotmail (this is back in like 1996) so I made up kenazo.

Kyte = last name

Kyteland = What my friends call South Dakota (where I grew up)

It's pretty much guaranteed that no matter what I sign up for, Kyteland will be availible.

cK-Gunslinger: 'Gunslinger' from SK's Dark Tower novels. 'cK' from when my younger brother and I used to play Quake2 on "The Zone." ;) We really hated those "clans," so he added 'cK' to his name (clan Killer). The two of us pissed off a lot of 12 year olds! I just liked the letters and thought it would make my name a bit more unique, so I kept using them.

Of course, there now appears to be a "cK" gaming clan out there, but I've never really had any run-ins with them. I do get the occasional, "Hey, glad to see a cK member here!" But I usually just ignore them.

I've been cK-Gunslinger online since about 1998-99 or so - or whenever Q2 was released. I've had to drop the hyphen for lots of things (like Anandtech), but that's ok. It's still easily google-able. I just have to exclude a few sites like Slashdot, Anand, and DevArt. :)

I've had mine for about 9-10 years. When I was in HS I ready Odysseus's journey or whatever it is called. On their trip they made it to an island full of cows and were told not to eat the cows. Keep in mind, they had not eaten a good meal in a long time. As you can already tell, they ate the cows, so when they went to sail away, the god of cattle came and killed all of the crew on the ship.

Xcript got me hooked on battle.net (diablo shareware was an 11 hour download on dialup, and he had just then got cable (and this was back before everyone had a burner)).. and I went through various usernames, but then I was Procyon for the longest time, and was my login name for Diablo 2, where I had two characters:

Cyra-something
Krin-something (dont really remember the rest of either char's name)

kinda liked the ring of CyraKrin, and the name stuck.. I use it for practically everything.. I dont think I even have a legit email / login anywhere using my real name or any other alias (accept on subspace, but I have a CyraKrin account too)

CK.

god and mare
mare
\Mare\, n. [AS. mara incubus; akin to OHG. & Icel. mara; cf. Pol. mora, Bohem. m[*u]ra.] (Med.) Sighing, suffocative panting, intercepted utterance, with a sense of pressure across the chest, occurring during sleep; the incubus; -- obsolete, except in the compound nightmare.

I will ride thee o' nights like the mare. --Shak.

I use 'Czarmare' sometimes, too.

One time I went to a summer camp and they gave us all nicknames based on a funny story we told. The story I told concerned a time when I tricked my cousin into jamming french toast into a VCR repeatedly in some insane attempt to create a breakfast movie or something ridiculous like that. My nickname was "Powdered Toast Man" - this is also familiar to Ren and Stimpy fans. I used this for a long time - simplifying it to "PTM" - on my various online endeavours (ie my website, http://www.haloonline.net). One incarnation of PTM was PowderBB3D (some others: Master Powder [ATHF derivation - Master Shake], The King of Powder, MP [military police and "Master Powder"], and The Toastman], the Powder deriving from PTM, BB from the two black belts I have, and 3D from the fact that I'm 3D (or something...).

I usually alternate between PTM or PowderBB3D now. For Anandtech I chose PowderBB3D.

Brutus (My dogs name) kend (the first part of my last name) when I first signed up (AOHELL) they would only allow 10 characters. (I wanted to use Brutuskendall) Benn using Brutuskend ever since.

NEVER seen anyone else using it on the net though, so I guess it, like ME, is unique!

My name says part of it that it doesnt might say. you all wont understand that because my name says where i might not not be from. Oh, and where's the bananas at?

The real reason : I coulnd't use the name i wanted......so i used one that might almost give me the edge i might not need in a round of a game i dont know about just to make me almost eligible for a raffle i almost surely didn't not want to be in.:D

long story short, it's closely based to a guy's character in an obscure b&w ali baba film that I watched in high school, lamaramashimsham was the charactors name and supprisingly when I signed up for my first hotmail account it was already taken so I modded the name a bit for my own uses.
