This question often pops up. 😛 About me: I'm beautiful, so I chose a nick to describe a luvly lady.

Really though, I'm just kidding. My nick has absolutely nothing to do with my appearance or personality. "Luvly" was chosen to reflect my feeling at the time I registered. I was excited and thought it was luvly to have found a hot deal site. Many people are changing their nicks now, so maybe I should change mine. If I did change my nick, it would reflect my feeling at that moment. I have a conventional system of nicknaming; everything reflects my feelings.

You could change yours to #1 Attention Whore.

This was my old AOL name, and the name I use on most forums and such. It is after my favorite hockey player ever, Larry Murphy, who wore number 55 and was a defenseman.

Well actually since almost all women are beautiful without their heads esp in the dark, and not one pic as surfaced with your's....you are by default luvly. 😉

DUROC: From the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. It was one of the words of power (Melenkurion Abatha, Duroc Minas Mill Kabaal). I'd been using that since the C=64 BBS days.

Moving to the Internet discovered that not only is Duroc a type of pig, but lots of people used that as a nic. Since I loved sharks... 😉

The line Melenkurion abatha! Duroc minas mill khabaal! Vain! was one of the best I have ever read....

and then the simplest one 'Nom." was probably the most eerie ever.

Nickname so everyone from RL who knows me, knows me online. I was givent he name somewhere around age 8. Everyone in RL knows me as Evad.

Same as my original account/screenname from using Netzero sometime in mid-90s.
comes from M*A*S*H's "Hawkeye" Pierce (which in turn comes from the character in Last of the Mohicans)

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no
basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from
a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

I lurked for a couple of weeks in the heyday of the babe thread era of Anandtech and was very amused by the drooling going on. I had this retarded idea when I registered that I was only going to post one question, looking for a gift suggestion for my then-boyfriend who posted here, and so why not choose a nickname just for fun? I also wanted one that he would never guess, and this nick is about as far removed from my attitude as possible.

5,000some posts and much abuse later, I find my nickname funny, and it still doesn't fit my attitude at all.
