Everybody loved Rocky because he overcame his circumstances & became a hero. Now we put people in cages & have them beat the crap out of each other (MMA).

I think that's just the natural progression of things though...people want to push the envelope in everything. The Olympics & X-games are a prime example of that...not just running sub-4 minute miles (which nobody believed could be done until the record was broken), but in everything from snowboarding to gymnastics. It's no different than anything else...now we carry mainframes in our pockets, self-driving cars are available for purchase, TV's are so thin you can hang them on your wall, you can fly across the world to any destination in under a day, etc. We progress!

There is a sizable population in Canada that doesn't consume alcohol. The ones that drink however, drink like sailors. Mayne is just working hard to keep the alcoholic veberage industry afloat.

I've had less than 10 beers this year. And half a glass of wine.

I am not anti-drinking, though I do tend to think that on the whole we do too much of it. That's part of why I wanted to cut back my alcohol. I used to drink like a sailor. It was hella fun, and I was fat and broke.

Funny, used to be I'd get together and play video games. Now every time we get together, it's centered around alcohol. Fuck. That. Could be why I don't have many friends though. Sitting in a circle drinking beer just isn't fun anymore.
