i was looking for some reviews of socket a motherboards, and a google search directed me to the folks at amdmb.com. then i started to frequent their "hot deals" section... which is essentially like the FS/FT boards here. there was a guy who posted something for sale and he mentioned he was a newbie there, but he's been around the AT forums for a while. so i came to AT to check it out... and haven't turned back :)

Used to hang out on Sharky Forums for about six or seven months or so... then someone mentioned ATOT, and I checked it out...

Hee hee.

I used to hit Sharky's and Anands webpage. Sharkys started to really suck and they closed their OT forum, so I found that Anand had its own forums and they were better!

From my original stomping grounds, DVDTalk.com

It took a while to get used to FuseTalk coming from UBB but I love FuseTalk now.

Was on Dave's Video Game Classics a couple of years ago and he had a link to a hot deal on a Sidewider Freestyle gamepad for $1 after rebate from Buy.com It said for more info to click the link, it went to The Daily Deals site. I followed it for a few days and in another hot deal said that the deal was lifted from Anandtech's hot deal forum. I said humm, there are hot deal forums? Clicked and now here.

I was talking to a co-worker on the phone (he's in Texas and I'm in Calif.) and he mentioned a good deal he found about on the Hot Deals forum at AT. He gave me the URL and I've been here ever since. The different forums have so much to offer.

Unfortunately, I still haven't found a good deal on an "Auto Suck". Oh well, guess I'll just have to keep on looking.

I actually first heard about AT in the Young Entrepreneur magazine, he won some kind of award in there or something :)

That's funny because FW was born shortly after AT banned posting coupons in Hot Deals.

A friend of mine used to tell me what websites where good for computer tech and what not. And I stumbled upon it. What caught me though was the for sale area. That is what I first got addicted to.

I don't know the whole story but I think Staples threatened to sue AT because the Ferengi's were improperly using the coupons or something like that. Last year I found an OLD archived thread from Anand himself or the mods I can't remember which said effective immediately, no more coupons.
