How did it get so big???

4 years or so ago I started Seti with a lowly cyrix 333 and a 32kbps dialup account.

As i sit here typing this , my home/office network consists of 8 computers spread over 4 switches, 3 kvm's, a router and a cable modem. Add to that 2 remote installations of 2 computers with a router and broadband modem each, 2 remote single computers with broadband, and a remote installation of 3 computers plus router and broadband.

I'm almost scared to add up the money spent along the way in networking gear and cat5 cable. 🙂

I guess besides a great big nef, the question I should be asking is if pushing for broadband drive building my fleet for Seti, or did pushing for Seti drive my move to broadband on multiple sites?

Or maybe you should be asking " Is it the Stats or the Science?" 🙂

If you think you are bad check my sig. In additon I've given away 4 systems since mid-April that are not on the list.

I have 4 computers at home the really do nothing but crunch seti. Well 1 is my own little webserver and I use that to pcanywhere into and another is for my wife to access the internet from the living room, but really I am kindof in the same boat. If it was not for the stats, would I be so gunho about this, I dont know. Would I really have the need for 5 computers in the house? But what can you do right........except........yell....... MORE MORE MORE!!!

Uh, I dunno. I just have two systems at home (sharing a demand-dial connection via ICS), and one lone remote system on a demand-dial connection (all three run F@H). That doesn't mean I wouldn't mind acquiring more hardware, of course. 😛

It is a serious addiction to EMI emissions from PC's.
It is now a well known documented fact the industry has been aware of this and has actually covered it up.
It has been linked to other afflictions such as HOTRODMANIA wereby those affected become addicted to the burned fumes of Hi-Octane gas and Nitro-Methane.
This is a serous condition and it has been suggested in medical circles that wearing a tin foil beanie is a good way to start down the road to recovery.
