How did I overclock?? 1600 to 2.0

AGOIA Athlon 1600 from newegg

Stuck it in 8KHA - did not modify the chip

Splash screen recognizes the chip as 2.0 Athlon - XP recognizes it as Athlon XP+2.0 at 1.69ghz

I did nothing but play with the bios settings - ARE these false readings - it runs NOT hot - stable -

Only problem - before when I was running stock 1.0 the 8KHA would not turn on without pressing power switch and then hit the restart switch - otherwise it would just hang

Now with this bigger chip it does the same only worse - from XP if I try to reboot - it will shut down but then it wont complete the reboot - I have to shut it off and power on AND hit reset - and even then sometimes I have to do that twice - but remember this problem is not new to this overclocked chip - it is just worse - other than that it runs great at the above speed - never crashes etc.

Thanks

Premier 300 Power Supply - but I am running lots of stuff - 2 vid cards - soundblaster - 3 hard drives and cdrw - lan card - 3 sticks 2100 ddr memory -256

But I have tried unplugging all drives and cdrw - all but primary driveto take power drain to minimum just to test if that is problem - had the same boot issues. I believe I tried all power drain tests except removing some memory.

If you have any other 300W+ power supplies around, you might try substituting them to see if that helps. Otherwise maybe it's a flaky motherboard? Good luck on the bug hunting. 😀
