How deep can I cut?

I don?t have a mobo that can change the multiplier for a SocketA CPU so I am forced to cut and join each bridge in the correct order to set my desired speed.

My question is how deep can I cut into the bridges before damaging my CPU?

not more then 1 mm, try to stay in 1/2. And then reconnect by pencil, disconnect by eraser.
