this is my current system that I'm selling to my brother since I'm building a new computer. how dated is this and is it worthy of the complete re-do I'm doing or should I have just upgraded? lol

CPU: P4 3.0ghz
PSU: 400w enermax
mobo: Asus P5GD2
RAM: dual 512 kingston
HDD: 200gb SATA (Western Digital)
LG DVD writer
GPU: Nvidia 6600gt PCI-E

19" CRT video monitor and samsung speakers too in the package im giving him

how much should i be charging as well?

I can say though that that looks like a decent system. It's a step up from mine at any rate.

Whether to upgrade or build new depends entirely on what you need a rig to do. What requirements do you now have that the current rig fails to meet?

eh, reason is i want an AMD and that would mean new cpu, mobo, more ram (anyway), need new gpu in a few months, want new HDD (anyway), new case, etc.

at first i was thinking "i wanna change cpus" and by the end of the night of going over parts i decided to just scrap my current rig and start new

its worth around 300-450. depends on what day it is. the thing is, a computer illiterate would rather get the same thing from dell with a monitor for $450 or something, so youre looking at 300 max.
