How dangerous is it to go like 120mph on a freeway?

Sometimes its fun, if you have a car that'll do it good enough.

I dunno what the dangers are though.

1.) Jailtime if you're caught
2.) Jailtime if you're caught
3.) Braking time going from 120 mph to a complete stop?
4.) Foreign objects in the road
5.) Animals (BIG ONES)

That's pretty stupid. I can't believe you actually soliciting an answer to this.
Please, for my children's sake. Go to the DMV and turn in your license IMMEDATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. That's even dumber than me.

You risk:

Losing control, possibly killing yourself or someone else
Getting pulled over, and getting fined up the ass.

I'll do 140-150kp/h on the 407ETR, but that highway is empty, and everyone does that speed usually.

Not to mention if you have a sh!tty car (like w/crappy suspension or small wheels/tires), you are woefully unstable. Do you know if your tires are speed-rated to 120? If they're cheap sh!ts probly not. Congrats, you don't know what you are doing and are officially another one of "those people" that drag down the rest of the world. Kill yourself now

bumpy sections of road/curves @ 120mph will fvck you up

that being said, my car tops out at 138

don't forget the guys going 135 will pass you and look like an idiot. (happened to me when i rented a neon and was going about 105 (i don't think the car could go much faster), and 2 guys passed me going at least 25 faster than me. figured I'd slow down before #6 happened....

6.) Death

Depends on the freeway and depends on traffic. There's some places that if there wasn't traffic it'd actually be quite safe. There's other that you just CAN'T unless you're in a full on race car, and others that you'll never be able to unless you're a ghost and can pass through solid objects unharmed.

Dumb. As a box of friggen rocks. Go ahead and do it, and when you plow into somebody and kill them and/or you, and if you survive you end up in jail, I'll laugh.

Update, the two of you need to ride to the DMV together and BOTH turn over you driver's license. :|

Edit: NM, I thought that was 150 MPH. 150k is only about 90 which is pretty common here in AZ where the speed limit is 75. Still way to fast IMO though.

It's not nearly as bad as people make it sound. You see, in the US people are brainwashed by their government's propaganda. The points they will bring up are the same as in other countries, even ones which don't have ridiculous speed limits.

When I was in Germany last year, the same laws of physics applied as they do in the US, yet nobody seemed to care if I was going 120 mph. In fact, plenty of other people were going fast as well. Apparently they don't think that driving at your own pace is deadly, and strangely enough their fatality rates are lower than ours. Who woulda thunk it- people can survive without nannystaters dictating your speed?

OMG some of you might own some really shtty cars

130 in a 92 chevy suburban = not safe
130 in a 911turbo = alot safer
130 in a CL65 E55/AMG = feels like 30 /clarkson reference

Safest thing in the world, just make sure you're wearing your helmet and your seatbelt.
Try this...
When you hit 120, whip the wheel quick right then quick left and try to get the ass end loose. It'll give you an air cusion under the tires, thus reducing friction and should allow you to get another 2 mph.
Let us know how it goes.
(P.S. Make sure the road is empty, you don't want to get paint on your car from other vehicles. That'd suck.)

You dumb F. Freeways are not designed for those speeds. Reading about the German AUdibon will make the short comings obvious.

And that's also why they make race tracks you dip sh!t.

QFT. Not all cars are created equal.

My Z at 120 is merely cruising along, feels fine.
