Hi

guys I got a question, how could someone get your IP via AIM when they start a file transfer ? I know its file transfer related because thats when a direct connection between 2 computers happens, but I wonder how does the guy on the other end gets the IP
a friend of mine just did it and now hes acting all cool like it was some big deal (he started a file transfer then closed it, maybe its in there ? )

please let me know

Thank you
Dan

Well you have to have a bit of a clue to figure out which one is the right one, but it's not really difficult.

probably (98%), this is mostly related to the file transfer
to send a file he has to connect directly to your pc which means his pc has to have your IP

Any direct connection between 2 computers over IP can be tracked using Netstat. Very easy to do.

Will work on all messaging clients as long as a file is being sent.
