Just finished watching season 1 of Jericho - what an awesome show. How could this be cancelled? I'm already upset that there is only 1 more season.

Why wouldn't SciFi pick this up or something? Sheesh. . .

It had poor ratings in the first season. They brought it back for a second after a big fan campaign, but ratings for the second season pretty much killed its chances.

1. Horrible acting.
2. Crappy Music.
3. Gradient Neutral Density filter on every outdoor shot.

It's a show that's supposed to be an answer to Lost, but with a different approach. One different approach was the lack of sexy women.

What's wrong with that? I get annoyed when they aren't used. I haven't watched the show though so maybe they use a blatantly obvious (8-stop or something) filter.

Because reality shows are much cheaper to produce. Seriously, I was rather pissed when they cancelled it both times. What did they expect when they moved the time slot over and over and then inserted a seasonlong hiatus?

Those were a response to the sucky ratings. The show had a fair chance to succeed, people didn't watch it. End of story.

Bottom line is money. The show was great, but wasn't pulling in the ratings. There are a lot of great shows that are cancelled because of that, but that's just how the networks work. If they weren't so greedy and cared about their customers, we'd have more great shows at good time slots. As it is, oh well!

that, and TV traditionally hates Sci Fi.

IIRC, the writer's strike didn't help, either. I liked it, as TV programs go.

Here's the deal: the majority of people are stupid sheep

Anything that requires intelligence, critical thinking, and logic will most likely be canceled. The people that watch network TV watch it to turn their brain off. Most intelligent people are too busy watching the national geographic, science, history, discovery, and local educational channels to give network TV shows a chance for fear of their intelligence being insulted. Not sure how Numbers has made it as long as it has, but I think Fringe isn't going to make it for this very reason.

What color is the sky in your little fantasy world? Please explain to me how the networks are not caring about their customers by canceling shows that nobody watches and replacing them with shows that people do watch.

I'm dying to hear this.

I really liked it, in spite of the disbelief and utterly retarded survival decisions that were made.

I really would like for Sci-Fi or something to pick it up anyway. I'm not sure where they would go with the storyline though. The alternate ending would have been a good intro for another season.

I've never seen a series where so many core characters died though, kinda weird.

Could have done without the love stories.

And wtf no hotties? Emily, Heather, April, MiMi, the RJ gal? I'd burgle their turds with my tongue.

you're right, they have professors and mathematicians on staff to verify what they say and translate for the average person, which means they explain the math for a layman. Those that truly understand the math involved can get a different experience out of the show than the aformentioned layman
