Family from the coast came to stay with us during the hurricane. My cousin was being bothered by something in his mouth which he thought was his braces and picked at it, but turns out he had a staff infection in his mouth. He went to the doctor today and they started him on antibiotics and he is doing just fine. But my next concern is this. He was at my house for about 3 days, he slept in my bed (i slept in a chair in the same room) and he played my PC for about 10 hours a day (counterstrike:source, Everquest2). As soon as we found out, we cleaned all the surfaces in the house (like the keyboard, mouse, etc. but the damage has probably already been done). The sheets were cleaned the day he left (pillow cases, sheets, etc.) all cleaned. But i did not clean my keyboard/mouse after he left and i used them during the time he was here.
questions:
1. How contagious is a staph infection, could i easily get it from the keyboard/mouse?
2. How long after exposure would i start to show symptoms?
3. Can the doctor test me somehow to see if i am infected? I have no soars, pains, fever, etc, i feel fine.
