i just ran prime95 overnight and it ran for 23 hours with no errors. i restarted my computer and then started up prime again, and this time there's an error about 6 mins in. i start prime again and same thing, 6 mins. i do it a third time, and its been running solid again for an hour so far. i'm able to loop 3dmark at the same time too. so what gives? anyone else run prime overnight and then have errors later? or is my oc not that stable?

i actually ran memtest86 overnight 2 nights ago with your "formula", and it passed with no errors. i can't remember, but maybe it did 18 loops? i'm not sure, i'm not that familiar with it yet.

i don't think my cooling is too much an issue. i'm running a dtek tc4 rev.2, mcw50, black ice extreme, hydor L30, 2 120mm panaflos push/pull for the rad, 1/2" clearflex60.

running 2100+ @ 2.5ghz (12.5x200) w/1.85v (mbm reports 1.87).
epox 8rda+ vdd modded 1.73
512mb corsair xms 3200c2 2,2,2,6@ 2.77v
zalman nb heatsink, stock hs on sb, ramsinks on mosfets.
case temps ~ 27c
cpu idles about 37-38c
load ~ 46-49c (not that great)

sounds kinda like the cpu is stable at times, but not stable at other times

lower the mult to 12 and see waht happens
or is it possible to go higher on vcore wit that board?
(i know its not safe, but for testing it wont do much/if any harm)

hehe..thanks thugs. i don't want you to stray too far from your intel expertise. ;)

yeah...something is wierd with the stability...i'll keep fooling with it i guess. anyone else?

i'll probably try a little higher on the vcore, but it was just wierd that it'll run for 23hours, then have errors in 6mins another time. thanks.

yeah
its not like you can say "that part of cpu wasnt being used the other 23hrs" lol

how are teh +5 and +3.3v lines?
under load?

maybe at times they are dropping too low randomly?

the 3.3 and 5v lines are okay. i have an antec true blue 480w. the 3.3v is incorrectly read on this mb, but the 5v is usually 4.89-92v and dips to 4.81-4v under prime, so it's not the best, but not that bad imo.

prime has been running for 2.5hrs now so far....wierd. i'll try more voltage and run overnight again.

Figure +/- 5% as being within specs....

+5v could be 4.75v min....

+3.3v could be 3.13v min...

+12v could be 11.4v min....

i'm thinking my mb just doesn't like 200fsb. i'm running at 13x193 instead of 12.5x200, and prime has been rock solid. my memory checks out okay...maybe i just need more voltage on my chipset (vdd).

yeah
either by a volt mod
or on abit nf7-s rev1.2 its available in bios

on topic:

i have encountered something else
it says prime95 errored, and it says what it expected (a number) and what it ended up with (another number)
but they are exactly the same (its a big number wtih an exponent of whatever) and the numbers preceeding the exponent part are exactly the same...

wow...that is a strange prime "error".
