When I think of LCD monitors that are VGA only (ie, no DVI-D input) I think of 17" and 19" 1280 x 1024 monitors (which later were also available in DVI-D + VGA) .....but then I found out there were 1080p LCD monitors like this one that also were VGA only.

So how common were these VGA only 1080p? And when did they stop making them and replacing with 1080p models that had both DVI-D and VGA?

Tons of businesses only used VGA, and monitor makers follow the $$$.
Heck, VGA is *still* widely used today, with VGA & HDMI being very common with no DVI at all.

I do know some Core 2 Pre-builts like the HP dc5800 and Dell Optiplex 360 (both introduced Q4 2008) had VGA only for the display output. These would have been in production through 2009. Starting with the late Core 2 models Display port started being added in addition to the VGA.....a trend I know continued through at least the Sandy Bridge era.

P.S. I also found this ASUS 19.5" 1600 x 900 LCD with VGA only.....so it appears 1080p wasn't the only 16:9 that came VGA only.

I've used Dell P2412H monitors that come with 1 DVI and 1 VGA.

Just want to say that VGA at 1080p looks fine.
