How come...

One of my fellow cube dwelling IT associates received some advertising material for Cisco in the mail today. We were both trying to figure out, how come we get a poster from Cisco with some dork in a hooded pullover sitting on a hill with a laptop(wireless ad I guess) and the mechanics at our local garage get a Snap On poster with a babe in a form fitting racing suit??? It's not fair I say!
Sure you could even take the stance that there are a lot of female IT workers who would not appreciate it, but what the heck, give them a hunky beef cake dude with out a shirt on poster! Ah well. Nonsensical post for the day is out of my system.

Yeah cars get chicks, but when was the last time you picked up a girl with a box of auto parts? "Hey babe, check out my platinum split fire spark plugs!"

That actually happened yesterday. She proceeded to mount my steering rod.

You have to remember your audience.

Which is what I was thinking too. There must not be enough female run auto part related businesses out there. Sigh. Guess we'll just stick with our geeky looking, khaki wearing mascots then.

Because getting an IT magazine with scantily clad women would probably be considered "sexual harrassment" in the corporate environment. This is not an issue in auto shops.
