How come when I switched from AOL DSL to Verizon DSL my PC ran a lot more stable?

How come when I switched from AOL DSL to Verizon DSL my PC ran a lot more stable? I switched today and noticed that my PC didn't crash even once, in the entire day. I wonder why AOL's DSL software made my PC crash? Do you have any ideas why this happened? Thanks for your help in advance.

AOl software is KNOWN to change your TCP/IP stack. It sucks!
