Ships are still lost, there's still lots of argument over why, nobody will ever really know for sure.

It's the methane rather than the rogue waves. They've proven very conclusively how methane releases can sink ships and down aircraft very easily and they've also proven how the exact area of the supposed Bermuda Triangle is beset with constant large scale methane eruptions.
