How come we don't see Hobbits in games like Baldur's Gate?

We see Orcs, Elves, Dwarfs but no Hobbits. What's the reason?

They're called halflings due to copyright restrictions.

As opposed to a socialist system in which there are only halfnotlings.

Yeah...the only people that call them 'hobbits' are themselves, the Rangers, the Bree-men, and some wood-elves that pass by sometimes. Just about everyone else calls them 'halflings', except the people of Rohan, who call them "holbytlas". (probably a good guess of where the name 'hobbit' came from, as the people of Rohan used to live far in the north.)
