How come water weight is lost so fast?

I just did a lot of work in one day, and I swear I lost some flab. I don't have a weighing scale, so I'm not sure exactly how much, but I do have a couple of questions:

How is it lost so fast?
How is it gained in the first place?

1. Body Heats up, first thing to go is water... to cool the body.
2. Drink it duh.
3. On a more technical note of #2, there is a maximum amount of water which any one cell can hold, after that to my knowledge it is "disposed" of. Your cells will hold as much as you drink, after that limit is reached, you go the potty often...
