How come this doesn't bother anyone?

In the interviews after a college basketball I see players with 5 carat diamond earings and designer shirts and no one says anything? The most recent example I can think of is Rashad McCants at UNC during the last ACC tournement. I could barely see his ears.

I'm 100% for players being paid, and I only bring this up because people are making players who get caught (Marice Clarret) out to be these bad evil people.

Chris Webber got caught 7 years after he graduated and people were like "Gasp what a horrible person". Like steriods, you know when someone is breaking the rules (Webber was pretty blinged out as a college student). They just don't care until they get caught, then when they have a chance to be self rightous they jump all over it.

what bothers me is the rate of graduation among these college basketball players. The NCAA is a joke when it comes to intelligence of its players. These retards on the court can barely tie their own shoes, and they want to be paid? Your payment is attending school FOR FREE. Use the fvckin education so you dont work at Burger King your whole life.

Wow... chill out. It's their lives and they can live it the way they please.

i really dont care. 1) they can do whatever the hell they want as long as they play ball, and 2) who gives a sh!t about college sports?

They're a huge influence in society. When they're such a strong influence on society, they'd BETTER live their life better than they are. They're just teaching our youth that it's okay to be stupid because they get paid way too much for a stupid profession. Add to that the virtual lack of parenting to set an example and explain that being intelligent and poor is better than being filthy rich and a dumbass and what do you get? NBA PLAYERS!

Diamonds don't mean they're breaking the rules. What local bank wouldn't loan money to them...their skills are the collateral. Increase the loan amount so payments are built into the loan for a year or two until they go pro. Same thing with Lebron's hummer, completely legit.

Like I said, I totally don't care if their getting paid, they deserve it.

Most of the posts here are like "Who cares". Which I'm cool with. Just don't hate on them when schools like UNC get caught, like those losers at the sports networks do. I'm looking at you Dick Vitel...

p.s. Athletes aren't aloud to take loans out against their potential for future earnings.

What bothered me was that they do nothing in college and are passed by their profs because they make money for the college.

Tou might be surprised.

Remember Lebron's Hummer?

You think the dealer would have let Mommy finance a $60K H2 without the knowledge her little boy was headed for the NBA?
