How come there is no light in the Freezer?

I'm thinking it probably has to do with safety and frozen glass/gas. But I don't know for sure.

I second that, meaning that if they do want to put one in then it has to be re-inforced to cope with the extreme low temps....hence only on higher models.

mine doesnt. but i pile so much crap in my freezer, even if i had a light it wouldnt help me see anything.

I have a side by side w/ light. Have a older top/bottom design (freezer on top) w/ no light.

I should mention, my side by side is a GE and in the fridge part, there are about 5+ light bulbs, maybe more. I lost count when the guy was taking off panels to repair a broken regulator assembly. I was simply amazed how many lights they put in there.

Buy a better fridge you cheapskate;) But really, we have like 3 year old Kitchen Aid, 25 cu. ft., top freezer model and it has a light.
