Like the only ones I know of is the pioneer slot load which is like a 4x or 6x or something like that. Does anyone know if any more are coming out anytime soon?

cost.

SCSI drives cost 30%-50% more and you don't need the xfer rate or power of a SCSI controller to run DVDs

The marketplace does not justify more than what there is. SCSI users are a minority. DVD users are a minority. A double minority does not offer enough business to justify the investment and risk.

As long as there is a Pioneer slot drive . . . I be happy! They are excellent performers.
