How come the lesser used browser seems to load pages faster?

I remember when switching from IE or Opera to Firefox I noticed that web performance was a lot faster..and my conclusion was Firefox > *

However now when I switch back to IE/Opera these browsers seem to run a lot faster.

¿Por que?

Anyone else experience this?

Tha'ts what I thought initially, but on Opera the disk cache is only 2mb..

because IE was always faster. firefux likes to load all the tables before rendering anything.

Technically speaking, HTML shouldn't be rendered until after it's all downloaded.

Opera generally renders faster than IE or Firefox.

I know i am one of the FF fanboys here, but i am giving opera a go. Opera loads pages faster than firefox from what i have seen.

I know what you mean. I think it's just all in my head. Since each browser renders differently, we notice the change when we switch browsers and it "feels" faster because we actually see a difference. I'm so used to Firefox that I don't notice when the page renders, but when I switch to IE, I notice that things appear differently and it somehow seems faster.

i use ie mostly, mainly cuz my ISP gives me their reworked version of it.....runs fine, im on a 2mb connection, i have a nice PC, there is no noticable difference as to which runs faster.....i click on a link, if the server its coming from is good then the page appears within little bits of moments.......
