What am I missing a setting somewhere in these new mobos? mobo supermicro x8dtu-f 48gb of kingston ram but only sees 40gb
how come the bios doesn't read all of our memory?

Do you know the RAM is good? Try one stick at a time. Also possible one of the slots is bad.
