How come Splinter Cell benches so low?

Even on the latest and greatest cards it benches low, yet on my laptop with 1.8GHz P4 and Mobility Radeon 9000 it runs totally fluid? I am (was, didn't like it and uninstalled it) running it at 1024/768 with everything at max no AA or AF and it runs totally fine. Just wondering.

If you benched your rig it would run far slower. There's a difference between saying something is fluid and having actual numbers to look at.

You also don't need 100 FPS+ unlike the first person shooter known as Unreal Tournament 2003. Not all games are built like UT2K3.
