Hi all,

my setup is:
Sony VAIO SZ640
T7500 2.2Ghz
2.0Gb ram
video mode in SPEED mode

i tried to play a movie clip HDTV 1080i format (490MB 4:00min)

when i play it on Windows Media Player 11, the movie clip isn't smooth at all. and a little blocky..
when i play it on Media Player Class, the movie clip seems smoother, but it is still blocky...

i saw other notebook (ex. Asus w7s) can play 1080i movie clips with ease even with Windows Media Player 11.
Is it a SZ down side?
or is it a codec problem? I am k-lite mega 3.7.0.

Do you have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed that support PureHD? I know the version of the NVIDIA driver that shipped with my Dell didn't have PureHD support.

Use performance mode (nVidia) and it should play exactly like the Asus w7s because they have the same nVidia GPU

performance mode, do you mean the graphics card toggle?

i already chose the speed mode which equal to performance mode.

i just can't find a driver for 8400M GS
i can find 8400 GS but it is for desktop.

Where can i get the lastest driver for this notebook?

Thanks

Oops, didn't know speed mode was the 8400M
I tried looking on Sony's website but they don't list all the drivers for the SZ. You can look at Laptopvideo2go for up to date nVidia drivers but they are NOT official drivers authorized by Sony

Hmm, I've got a Sony CR with a T7500 processor, 2GB of memory and X3100 Intel graphics. Let me check out how mine runs 1080p video.
