Close all windows and reopen a new one. The problem lies in either a flaw in IE or your cache.

It seems that the first link you click on when you visit anandtech opens in a new window, any link thereafter opens in the IE window that opened when you clicked on the first link.

If you close the new IE window, then the next link you click on will open in a new window. I just got used to it.

Links made in posts have a target window of 'new'. If one doesn't already exist, IE will make a new browser window which it will name 'new' and load the link in that window. If you click another link that targets the window 'new', it will also load in that window.

If that didn't make any sense at all, don't worry about it. :p

OK, but....

For example.
I have now 1 window open with a thread and a response with a link in it.
Usually IE opens a new window. But sometimes under the same circumstances IE does not open a new window.

This is not an important issue, I was just curious.

Yeah, I have that happen to me too. Some links in a post will open a new window, others will open up in the current window (the one browsing threads).

it's a design choice by the person who made the link. IMO I prefer to decide when i do and do not need a new window (by using my right mouse button) so under normal circumstances this REALLY ANNOYS ME :D
