How come people are scared to post their pic on the internet

I wonder, why are people so freaked out about posting pics of their FACE on the internet, but they will do ANYTHING to get their face on TV or in the newspaper etc..

i don't mind posting my pic.

i wouldn't however post my wife's pic without her express consent.

Because you're probably a lot more likely to become the target of mass photochopping from your face being on the internet.

geeks pick apart hot chick pics... can you imagine what they'll do to regular-people pics ? TV is different because the audience isn't made up of critical / judgmental people exclusively.

Partly manipulation (eg star wars kid) and it's easy to ridicule other from the comfort of your own home. Not gonna happen on TV/Newspaper as lawsuits are more likely.

nah. what are the chances that you'd get your face photochopped onto multitudes of random movie pics, etc just by posting your pic on the internet? even if you were a fat asian kid i doubt it would happen.

How do you know these are the same people? Just because you see some clowns jumping when the camera is on, doesn't mean they're the same people who are paranoid about their pics being on the internet.

Because the average person appearing on television isn't on for long enough to make enemies.

Internet is longer term and more easily downloaded and saved.

yurp. also, on tv you're generally on for a longer period of time, so you have some leeway with which to redeem yourself if you look bad initially (personality/appearance-wise). With a still photo, there's no such room.
