How come no one ever told me about Depeche Mode!?!

My wife heard Johnny Cash's cover of Personal Jesus in the car. She almost chucked the stereo out the window. Yes she's a fan, and yes we're going to the show next month up in Seattle.

I've got a couple tickets to the concert in Seattle next month, but haven't decided who to take just yet, a couple of options.

Between a friend and I, we have 27 discs of theirs in our collection, haven't picked up the singles boxes yet though, which he'll get to eventually.

I had another friend that go the Violater logo tatooed on his arm before the last show up here a few years ago, and he talked about it to a guy on the radio, the show producer heard it and he got hooked up partying with the band after. I was supposed to go too, but with the freaking crowd I couldn't get down there in time. @#*%&*( oh well

He also had *every* CD as far as he knew. Every album, single, bonus disc, concert giveaway, import, etc. It was a bit over 100 at the time.

His voice is whiney, like the Counting Crows dude. Pretty annoying.

And you don't think New Order's singer doesn't sound whiney?

Its just the style.

I love both NO and DM. I probably have all of NO's 12"ers including imports. 80's music is my favorite genre. My MP3 player is loaded with NO, DM, TFF, Erasure, OMD, etc.

I just never really got into DM. They had a couple of OK songs. I liked NO, Erasure, OMD much better.

While we're on the '80s, how about The Cure and The The.

The Cure has put out some astonishingly great music over the years, whereas The The was never more than mediocre.
