How come Netflix doesn't rent adult dvd's?

- Community standards
- Minors
- Backlash from the Morality Thought Police

...and some advertising / co-marketing deals probably wouldn't be possible if netflix carried Evil Filthy DVDs I'd guess.

Doesn't the CC verify age? And I thought they did rent adult DVDs.

What if a parent allows a kid to go online and pic movies out for themselves or sets the account up for thier kid. The CC age verified kid now has access. Obscenity laws very from state to town. My guess is that they want it to be more family safe.

You could easily set that up with parental controls.

Then shouldn't the parent be verifying what DVDs their kid downloads? Sheesh. I wouldn't let my 12 year old (if I had one) even sort through R movies, they'd still get porn if they wanted to with something like Gia. Besides, the family accounts probably have rating restrictions like Hollywood video rentals or TiVo. Then of course the parent would probably see the movie when it got mailed to them as well.
