How come my USB Optical Mouse keep its red light on even after I turn off my computer?

It's weird, after I turn off my comp, my optical mouse light is still on. Isn't it suppose to turn off after I turn off my computer? I tried fixing it in my BIOS but it's not working. I know there's a way to fix it in the BIOS but I don't know where to go.

Make sure all of the "wake-on" features are disabled.

Also, if your PSU has a switch at the back, turn it off and the light will fade out.

In any event, it's not likely to burn out the led.

The ATX power supplies in all modern computers are not really OFF until you flip the switch on the power supply itself.

Otherwise the power supply provides a constant on 5 volt power feed to your motherboard. This power feed is used for soft-on/off features and various standbv/sleep modes.

Most motherboards allow you to power on your computer by hitting a key on your keyboard or the button on your mouse. To do this they have to keep these devices powered to detect the button presses. This setting is sometimes adjustable from your motherboard's BIOS. If you have no BIOS settings for it there is sometimes a jumper on the board to turn it off, you'll have to read your mobo manual for that info. If you don't have a jumper ethier then don't worry about it. Its not going to hurt anything. The LED in your mouse will not burn out. It will still be going 20 years from now :D

... and if you don't want your computer and monitor and printer and whatever else to consume power while you thought they were "Off", get a power strip with a switch to REALLY cut the power off. Saves money, reduces the risk of unattended fire.

but then you might lose your monitor settings. My Sony loses its settings if you leave it without power for too long.
