How come most PC only have 1 expansion game? I bet StarCraft & WarCraft would have sold many many expansion games if they were made. How hard could it be to make expansions? The only mulitple expansion game I've seen are the Ever Quest.

Cheers,

like the sims, right? :D

actually, a game has to be really popular to warrant an expansion (and with consoles nowadays, thats happening less). also, developers are constantly working on other games, and dont have the resources to do it. also, some dont want to milk a franchise for all its worth.

By the time you develop a full game and an expansion,
the state of technology begs you to move forward...

Because expansions usually sell much fewer copies and for a lower price. And by the time a second expansion was ready most gamers would have moved on to another game so sales would be lower still.

With EverQuest that is one of those deals that you keep playing it with no end. Most other expansions are short and not worth a whole lot of money usually.
