I got over 15 bites from mosquitos, but I noticed that they never bite my face? How come? What's so different that they enjoy sucking from my arms and legs, but never the face???

I bet the mosquitos that went for people's faces got weeded out of the gene pool pretty fast.

Less blood flow in face than in arms - you don't have as much meat on your face as opposed to your back, arms, etc.

"are you ugly?"

LOL! Good one! Maybe he is ugly 'cuz I know I've received mosquito bites on my face before. I also know other people who have. Check the mirror again, Bobby Ribs. I'm afraid the mosquitos just freaked out when they saw your face. :Q Hehehe! :D

Besides, be careful what you pray for 'cuz you just might get it. You don't want a mosquito hearing your prayer and fulfilling it for you.

your face has a lot more nerves than limbs. if a mosquito is to land on your face you'd notice as soon as it gets there and you'd swat it away. as oppose to if it lands on your leg, you probably wouldn't even notice it there sucking your blood.

Part of it has to do with you moving your head a lot. They hardly ever land/stay on anything that is moving. I get bites on the forehead once in a while so they will if you hold still for a while.

I think there's actually more blood flow to the head... and mosquitos couldn't care less how much meat... they're interested in the blood :)

Because your skull is so close to your skin that they wouldn't get very deep...

because your face probably produces natural oils that repel them... as a side effect of course...

Maybe you have too much acne and they can't find a landing spot?

<nerd> Actually mosquitos might prefer acne infested skin. Each zit is swollen because of excess blood flow, close to the surface, to fight the infection. </nerd>

Lack of good target area?

Hair...can't dig
Ears...you'd probably hear the buzzing and swat
eyes...you'd see them and swat
nose...you might suck them in and swat
mouth...very sensitive area, you would swat
chin...rapidly moving target, you yap a lot

doesn't leave very much of your face now does it?

oh they do...if you ever happen to go to India or something you will find out what true mosquitos are. Those *bleeps* will bite you anywhere and everywhere...even places you didn't know existed. oh right...I think there is a couple more mosquitos there than here.

I'd say you don't usually get bits on your face because you tend to swat them away when they get in your face.

Actually I heard on the news that mosquitos are attracted to movement so when people try swatting them away they keep coming. I don't know who in there right mind would stay still when being bitten all over, but that's what i heard.

Actually, I don't really get bitten by them. I've lived in Panama for a lot of my life, and I have never really noticed any mosquito bites on my body, now that i think of it. Hmm, weird, maybe they just don't like me :p
