How come in 3DMark2k, V5500 is slower than a G256/SDR without Hardware TnL

i have got myself a G2/GTS
and ran 3dmark2k
after running i fire up the online result browser and there it kinda analyse my score and let me compare my score with other cpus and other 3dcards

what i find interesting is a few things if the CPU is a P3/800

- G256/SDR is FASTER with P3/SSE optimisation than Hardware TnL on the Geforce
- G256/DDR and G2/GTS is FASTER with Hardware TnL than the P3/SSE optimisation

can anyone explain this difference?
i see that the G256/SDR is 'slow' compared to a P3/800 but then why is it, with the SAME CORE(G256), outperform a P3/800E when using DDR memory
i think it could be because using Hardware TnL use more Memory bandwidth and SDR is limiting that? am i correct

why does
- G256/SDR/DDR with P3/SSE optimisation still faster than a V5/5500? (even when NO MORE Hardware TnL advantage)
i can believe the G256/DDR is faster but how is it the SDR is faster?

Don't use 3D Mark to benchmark. They are the worst. Use quake or unreal or something.
