How come i run out of ram very quickly when...

I play certain divx movies?

Movie A runs smoothly. But movie B makes the divx player freeze and then i get the page file increase message from winxp.

I run a p2 2.2ghz with 640mb of pc2100 ddr (1x512 crucial, 1x128 dell) and the only other things running are aim and motherboard monitor.

Seriously, does that movie have a very far out bit rate or something? That could causing it but seems unlikely. How much ram is used when all your programs are closed?

Whatever player you are using, I would try another one. The first thing I'd suspect is your player has a really bad memory leak that it somehow hits with said file. Try a different player and see if it still happens.
