I've heard the song in the OP before and always thought it was a cover song. The lyrics remind me of something from the 80s, and the beat sounds familiar but I suppose it's a pretty simple one. Don't really care for either the song or the band though, but I guess at least they have instruments.

I saw these guys playing at the Calgary stampede a few years ago. They were on a side stage and had about 30 people gathered infront of them.
They suck, even in Canada.

Shitty mainstream rock. If I want to listen to that style, I'll listen to a good 90s band, instead of this warmed over bullshit.

This song is a prime example of what is killing rock. This is pop rock crap. The vocals sound like 50 other "rock" bands.

Finger Eleven is better than that song, although I'm not a huge fan of theirs.

I prefer this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVczoqOTFEQ although its not great either.

No, there are two things killing rock.

1. the attitude. Look at Oasis. Like them or not, they were probably one of the last big Rock n Roll bands. They had this arrogant attitude and did not give a fuck what the media thought....and of course, the drugs and boos. That was Rock n Roll. You can say Foo Fighters, but they just do not have the attitude thing going. Everyone is just being so nice now. I guess we could blame britpop. It was Rock, stripped down and made nice, clever, and quirky.

2. The evolution of rock. Sadly, sex, drugs, and rock n roll cannot live forever....we have come to the electronic age where everyone strives for perfection. It's the evolution of music. Perfect drum beats via a machine, perfect solos, perfect voices. Experimenting is not really experimenting anymore. It's actually more experimental to be human now.

Greyest of Blue Skies was one of my favorite albums growing up. Paralyzer (The song in the OP) is catchy but easily one of their dumbest songs and felt like a sell-out song from them.

Try these songs: First Time, Above, Therapy, Keep Your Memory Vague, One Thing, Thousand Mile Wish, Good Times.
