it usually works for me in powerdvd, but if I want to take a cap off windows media player, I have to turn down the video hardware acceleration temporarily. Dunno if this helps at all...

<looks around for nik>

Are you using the print capture on powerdvd, or windows prtscn?

Playing a DVD using usually uses the overlay.

if you use the printscreen key on your keyboard, it wont work. powerdvd has a capture frame button (the shortcut is C). if you go to configuration -> player setting tab -> advanced, you can change options for the screen capture.

If you use you Nvidia software DVD player, just hit 'C', and it captures it into My Pictures...

Or you can use Fraps to capture anything rendered on the screen that's not 2D. Just don't let anyone find your pron stills later. Shrimp go bad after awhile.
