How come I can't go higher?

Hi, new to the boards. My computer (E7200 @ 3.5GHz, DFI BloodIron, G.Skill 4GB 800 RAM, OCZ 500W PSU) will not let me go one MHz higher than 3.5GHz. My OC setup is 369MHz @ a 9.5 multiplier. I've tried at least a dozen times to overclock it further, I can't even get to 370MHz without BSOD'ing. Also heres the CPU-Z to show my volts and stuff

So what am I doing wrong? I made it to 3.5GHz just fine, but I'd like to get to 4.0GHz, if possible. Also temperatures aren't a problem. Under load my cores only get to 51C, thank God for the Antec 1200!

First off, those are the BIGGEST icons I've ever seen! Seriously man, wtf?

Ok, now that I've gotten that out, it seems that you've reached your limit at that voltage. 1.216V to get 3.53ghz at 51C isn't bad at all, and you can definitely push it further.

My next step would be increasing the fsb to 400mhz, (3.8ghz) and increasing the voltage until it's stable (within limits of course). Keep an eye on temps and stress test it, the usual. If you want, once its stable there, increase the fsb to 421 and volts as needed to get your desired 4ghz, but this is hard to reach, and temps will probably be way too high. Try to keep the temps under 65C and volts under 1.36, if you want to keep that chip for long.

Lol, yea I accidentally hit the ctrl+scroll wheel up. They're fixed now. I'm gonna try to increase the voltage, I'm reading that guide now, but I'm not seeing how to increase the voltage. Is there a specific guide on how to increase the voltage on a BloodIron? thanks!
 
vtt 3.45v is pretty large & dangerous. nb core 1.33v should be fine, but the main number you're concerned with is cpu vid special add. That will add millivolts to your stock Vcore.

1.225 + say .175mv = 1.40v in bios. probably about 1.36v in cpu-z. Also you should be running some stability testing software & temperature monitoring programs. Like orthos & coretemp or Prime & realtemp.
 
not sure, but def. not 3.45v. download a program named prime95/orthos, and one called coretemp.

open cpuz 5 times and select a different tab in each instance. open coretemp. start priming and take a screen shot after about 30 seconds. Post up that screenshot so we can see your rig!

I've heard 1.45 is safe for vcore, but you're saying 1.36? And what should you guage the vcore "safety" by, CPU-Z or the mobo?
 
Did you also try upping the voltage of your ram? It's rated between 1.8 and 1.9. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to up it a little for higher fsb.
 
Yes, it's the DRAM voltage. I have mine set at 1.8V with FSB at 445. I did have trouble getting my E7200 past 3.6 GHz I think using the mostly the same setup. Your chip just might be a bad overclocker as mine was.
 
I think your odds of reaching 4ghz on todays e7200 batches is pretty slim. Just from what I've read here over the last few months shows that. In fact, I'd say you'd be pretty lucky to hit 3.8ghz. I thought my vid @ 1.2 was bad but I'm starting to see even higher than that. I can get 3.6 out of mine, but that's with 1.34v(cpuz). Good luck with that o/c !!
