Maybe you should read the HardOCP thread and/or PM the author to find out how he made it look so good. You can make the Xbox upscale to 1080i apparently.

Rage187, you are lucky to have such good hardware before you grow old and have children, thus making you unable to have time or money for computers.
/parody.

Did you move the little switch over on the component cable? Did you go into the console settings and change it to 1080i and widescreen?

Also, most of the 360 games are lacking AA, AF, and V-Sync so they don't look that great to begin with.

thx found this as well

The 2405FPW lacks the ability to properly scale and properly display the aspect ratio of material sent via a component cable.

A good transcoder will be able to take the HD input signal and send out a VGA signal with the correct resolution and aspect ratio.

I.E. if you were to use a transcoder for 1080P, the image would not be stretched on the 2405FPW if the 2405FPW has its settings tuned to 1:1 scaling.

You should also be able to use aspect scaling for 720P.

The transcoder turns a signal meant for a TV into a signal that can be understood properly by the 2405FPW.

Seriously, you cant just adjust the hoizonal and vertical when running component to the 2405? Did dell honestly expect people to view 16:9 content squished to 16:10?
