How come GPU and CPU Temps

These days a tempature above 50c is bad for your processor however, some graphics cards namely the GeForceFX5900U can reach up to tempatures of 70c and is considered normal!
 
A temperature above 50c isn't bad...

The actual reading of the GPU temp is likely done via a diode on the die which would be higher and MORE accurate than a low reading socket temperature for your CPU.
